I woke up this morning to find awesome news! Jeph Loeb, the man in charge of all the Marvel TV shows, teases the possibility of having The Punisher (Jon Bernthal) battle Robbie Ryes (aka the 2nd Ghost Rider) in a future episode of The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
At the red carpet event for the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. premiere, Marvel Television Producer Jeph Loeb hinted at the possibility of The Punisher showing up later this season to face off against Ghost Rider. He introduced the different guests at the premiere including a Ghost Rider comics writer Gerry Conway. Loeb introduced Conway as “The Creator of the Punisher” and stated “You will understand why I brought all of these people here later in the season, and why it makes sense.”
After seeing the introduction of Ghost Rider last night, it is clear that these two anti-heroes share a few similarities in their motives and it would be quite the face-off if the two were meet. Would you like to see this interaction and the chance for the television properties to cross over?
I would. I would love to see Punisher appearing in The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s future episode where he ends up battling Ghost Rider and likely defeat him the same way Punisher defeated Johnny Blaze in The Thunderbolts comic run.
