It is with deep sadness to report that Steve Dillon, the famed artist behind The Punisher and The Preacher has died.
Sad to confirm the death of Steve, my big brother and my hero. He passed away in the city he loved (NYC). He will be sorely missed. Cheers x

Died at the age of 54, Steve Dillon was known worldwide for his incredible artwork he did for The Preacher and for The Punisher.
I did some great Punisher Harp art based on his version of The Punisher.
Tributes are pouring in to honor his memory, including my own. Steve you have been an incredible artist for all of the comic book world. You will be missed by all who loved your work. RIP Steve Dillon.

Sherry is the one who came up with the idea of portraying The Punisher from Marvel Comics as the punishing harpist who plays the harp in memory of his family who was killed by the mob years ago.
