You guys are going to laugh at this. Even find it absurd. But I have an idea that could be interesting to especially those who are fans of #Kastle and Broadway. How about a Punisher musical? That’s right. A Punisher Broadway-style musical based on some scenes of Daredevil Season 2 and most of Marvel’s The Punisher, focusing mainly on the origins of The Punisher, Frank’s relationship with Karen, Micro, his blood brother, and Billy, The Judas Goat, who betrayed Frank and his family to the slaughter at the park’s carousel and ended up having his face severely damaged by Punisher. Many parts of the musical would be based on Frank’s visions of his wife shown in various episodes including “Home” where Frank dreams of his wife while being tortured by Billy.
You may find it absurd, but I think it will work if it’s all done right in very format that brought this newest Marvel Netflix show the title of being the highest rated show on Netflix. No super powered beings, magical creatures, or fantasy world of any kind. Just an awesome Tony Award winning Broadway musical without the disastrous props and set ups that brought a certain Spider-Man musical to ruin.
Picture in your mind Frank singing to Karen a song called “Please?” that assures her that she will be protected and no one can hurt her on his watch. “Please” would be the signature song sang throughout the whole musical while Frank sings about doing whatever he can to protect Karen from villains because “She’s family.”
In another scene Billy will sing about his sad childhood while embracing the hopes and dreams of making it big in business as head CEO of Anvil and find some romance along the way.
In another scene, Frank and Micro sings about Sarah and Karen being family. Frank and Karen saving each other in a hostage situation, then share a moment in the elevator in a song.
How about a flashback where Karen tried to defend Frank in court in a song? Or when Frank helps Karen escape being shot by an unseen sniper in Frank’s old house? Maybe Frank and Sarah, Micro’s wife, will sing about coping with loss? How about a scene where Micro and Frank sing a song about a sandwich or getting each other’s help to expose a conspiracy brought on by Billy? Or Micro singing a solo on how he deeply misses his family after he ended up faking his own death to protect them?
All these suggestions I gave would make great scenes for the Punisher musical if Marvel doesn’t mind doing such a musical which I hope it’s a billion times better than the Spider-Man musical. Perhaps you can make great #Kastle style suggestions that would work in the musical yourself.
