Do you know what I love about Jon Bernthal’s version of The Punisher besides his guitar playing, his ways of brutally punishing criminals, and how he’s 50% human and 50% Punisher Max? His facial expressions! They make me smile every time I see him make a face in The Punisher series. To me, his face so soft it’s like silly putty. He doesn’t need to put on makeup to display faces that reminds one of a circus clown. He frowns, he smiles, he cries, he laughs. He gets shocked, angered, saddened, surprised, silly. No wonder why so many people are so impressed by Jon’s incredible acting skills. Whether live on stage or on the screen. He was literally born to act.
Just the other day, alongside Billy Russo, more recent BTS photos of The Punisher have turned up to reveal Frank making all sorts of faces including one of my favorite ones, the shocked look on his face upon seeing something horrible happening in the streets of NYC where Punisher is pursuing Billy who is armed with an assault-style weapon. Here they are.
I hope to see more of Punisher’s facial expressions when Punisher Season 2 premieres on Netflix sometime in late 2018/early 2019.
