Long Time, No Post

It’s been a long time since I posted here. Lots has happened since I updated this site with new posts, with the COVID-19 pandemic, the awful clown show of January 6th and the passing of my mother from COVID and my older brother from a heart attack within a 10 day span in February. Both occurred in 2021 of last year which to me was just a few small potholes in the road compared to the horrible sinkhole of getting Grover cosmetically fixed, which I had a horrible time doing. Never getting everything right without wrecking the decals, bleaching the finish, scratching up the wood grain, sanding away the veneer all while I was on the verge of losing my temper, crying, having self pity parties and struggling a lot of fears and anxiety of experiencing unpleasant things such as being taken away to some sort of mental institution, being next on the Grim Reaper’s hit list, and being confronted by those who would accuse me of mishandling and abusing my harp when I in fact wasn’t.

In reality, I was trying to fix my harp any which way I could. I had to. Because of the pandemic, I was not able to get help from professionals lest I ended up getting the virus that killed my mother a few months after she fell and hurt her face so badly that she has to be taken to the hospital which at that time turned out to be a major hotbed for the virus. And that was right near the end of October of 2020. That’s where she got the virus and that how she ended up going to Heaven 4 months later. As for me, I wore a mask, practiced social distancing, and eventually got vaccinated and boosted to help my body fight off the virus, doing whatever I could to stay away from the virus so I won’t share the same fate as my mom.

Pandemic, personal and family affairs aside, fixing Grover turned out to be entirely disastrous and I needed help the professional way. So I had to seek help from the professional Camac Harp technician and repairer from Brooklyn, NY named Liza Jenson, who only was able to fix Grover’s removable head which took months for it to happen. But that’s not all, I also had to seek professional help from wood restorers in Michigan because there was no way I can send my harp to another state or country without forking over tens of thousands of dollars to repair Grover’s poor body.

Well after many months of waiting and searching I finally found a team of awesome professional wood restorers and repairers from Grand Rapids, MI who gave my beloved Grover much needed repairs and restorations that gave Grover a brand new look and a beautiful appearance that I, myself also contribute to the 100% satisfying completion of Grover’s restoration which I’ll explain on my next post.

Just a large spool of yarn, but it’ll have to do.
