One year before The Punisher made his solo debut in Marvel comics in 1986, there was a harp, with a “blow harp” (harmonica) attached to it sighted on Sesame Street in 1985. That harp, a Lyon & Healy Style 23 in Gold finish with a large harmonica attached to it, was once played by Mr. Snuffleupagus (Snuffy) years ago in Episode 2098 of Sesame Street where Snuffy brings out his “Harpmonica” to perform a concert for the whole Sesame Street gang and Big Bird wants to join in and play with Snuffy in his concert.
BTW, my two Camac harps “Grover” (left) and “Ernie” (right) are both named after Sesame Street’s Lovable Furry ol’ Pal Grover and Ernie, Bert’s roommate and pal.
Sherry Konkus lives in Owosso, MI. She is the proud owner of the Camac Athena EX Concert Grand Harp named “Grover” and Camac Mademoiselle named “Ernie.” She’s also the proud author of The Punisher Harp Zone. Sherry is the one who came up with the idea of portraying The Punisher from Marvel Comics as the punishing harpist who plays the harp in memory of his family who was killed by the mob years ago.
